WHAT IS AN EXTRA ROLE?

Having an extra role means playing the background in a film, in a series or on stage. Unlike actors or performers, extras do not have to speak any text.

IS BEING AN EXTRA PAYED?

Of course. In Austria, the usual fee is a flat rate of €30-35 net for up to 10 hours. This is because extra work is classified as paid work, but not as a profession.

CAN YOU BE AN EXTRA FULL-TIME?

No, actually that doesn't work. The stated remuneration is to be understood as an expense allowance and not as a salary.

HOW LONG DOES A DAY OF SHOOTING LAST?

A day of shooting lasts up to a maximum of 12 hours. As an extra, you will generally be booked for a period of 10 hours. It happens that a day of shooting is shorter or longer than 10 hours. – In the latter case, overtime is also remunerated from the 10th hour.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE ALL INFORMATION LIKE CLOTHING, TIME, ADDRESS?

The information, such as the style of clothing, the exact address and the time at which we meet on the set, is usually only communicated the day before the shoot for various reasons. Sometimes this information is also available in advance, but this is the exception rather than the rule. Therefore, it is advisable to keep the whole day free if you agree to a shoot.

WHO IS MY CONTACT?

If there are 10 or more extras, one of our team members will be on site and therefore your direct contact person for all matters. If none of us are on site, we ask you to call our office directly or to write a Whatsapp/SMS.

WHEN DO YOU RECEIVE THE COMPENSATION?

You have the option of picking up your remuneration from our office every Thursday between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Alternatively, you can also fill out our fee note including IBAN and BIC and receive the payment by bank transfer.
